Droga virus

I spent 1/2 of my day yesterday reinstalling my desktop thanks to a virus. I tried to avoid it but it got past peer guardian and two firewalls when i stupidly launched the emotionalintelligence.exe

I don't know why i did it. I was looking for that new book by that guy also has a new book about environmental intelligence. split second lapse of 13 years of working with networks and it slipped in and proceeded to eat away at my apps

I had no other choice, I would suffer the shame of it getting a hold of my contact list and sending some stupid shamie sales pitch email to everyone in it. How embarassing for those poor saps that i've recieved the same inbox invitation from an ancient colleague to take a look at their favourite place to shop on line.

backup the data/ format / reinstall the partition manager after XP wipes it out, setup up the desktop and reinstall the few day to day programs and another 20 or so fun apps that i keep in my environment.

About every six months or so i go thru this process so, have i ever made that image and kept it on the shelf ... not yet. but its really getting to the point where this old dog needs to learn that trick.
Then again I kinda like taking that half a day of spring cleaning, like organizing the closet and just getting things all in order. I end up running into folders and docs I havent seen in a while and those little apps I just love get back in the hilights and those ones i dont love well they never have another chance.

Here's to catching a computer virus and and taking the day to wipe it out before it ever had the chance to reek its havoc.

API Reference Guide

150 pages of technical translation of application programing interface (API) reference guide was so much fun. You really can imagine how much fun it can be to write

IN_THE_STYLE and formatting used in the technical manuals to describe, how to use and when to use and what_can_be expected from the various code.

Really there is a skill to working with the same few words and rearranging their order to make reading so exciting and few make working their words order something that makes order and work real interesting.

I only regret that i couldn't spend more time working with the reference guide because i have to get started with the programmers manual. I'm sure the programmers manual holds its own secrets but the reference guide will always call me back for addition here and there.

The curso do C UFMG

The University of Minas Gerias published a book the Curso do C. Programming in C. The book was nice neat simple and coverd the basics. Only 125 pages and very simple to understand (outside of the fact it is written in Portuguese) for the novice programmer.

What is even more intersting is that this course has been very popular for many of the best programers coming out of UFMG. Being in Mining country these programmers are snatched up to do automation and controlling of various mining equiptment.

Its good money and a good job working with programming and control languages.

google it.. Curso do C UFMG...

Caminhos da India cheio de Lunaticos

I don't really understand this Ali Babba novela, but everyone is watching it. If there was a way to avoid it I would, but the topic is about schizophrenics and its becoming schic in brazil to be a lunatic. You see teens and young adults are good to dress and act strange, then you grow up, get a job, make some money. But latley if your a lunitic you can act irresponsibility and blame the sickness, so its like Monopoly just added a "get off the hook, I'm crazy card".

I'm glad i'm not going the lunitic route to get through facing some stupid moves. I'm  dealing with not having all the answers, naive and humble has been making life much easier than the moda hoje em dia, certeza, paranoid, and on psycotropic meds.
